ERASMUS+ TRAINING IN TUZLA: YOUNG VOICES FOR TRANSPARENCY

From 23rd to 28th July 2025, the city of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, became the meeting point of over 30 youth workers, activists, and educators from across Europe as part of the Erasmus+ training course “Whistleblower Protection and ICT Against Corruption.”

Organized by akustikUm – Music Youth of B&H, in cooperation with partners from Iceland, Slovenia, Germany, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, and others, the training was implemented within the project “With Digitalisation Versus Corruption”, co-funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS-YOUTH-2023-CB programme.

For five days, participants explored key issues such as: Whistleblower protection in the Balkans and Europe, the role of youth in fighting corruption, digital tools and platforms for civic transparency, media literacy, anonymity, and digital activism.

The sessions were led by international and local trainers and guest experts, including activists, journalists, and human rights advocates. Through group work, creative workshops, and peer learning, the participants developed practical ideas and drafted parts of the future anti-corruption youth toolkit.

Cultural exchange was also at the heart of the program. Participants visited the famous Pannonian Lakes, explored the city center of Tuzla, and attended Kaleidoskop Festival, one of the region’s leading urban and contemporary art festivals. In the end the goal of the training was clear: “We want to empower young people and youth workers to become active defenders of transparency, justice, and integrity in their communities, using both their voice and digital skills”.
